Why this section exists

Preach the Word

Paul’s charge to Timothy was given before God and Christ Jesus — a solemn stewardship, not a suggestion. It does not make every believer a pulpit preacher, but it does make every believer responsible to proclaim God’s Word faithfully in their own sphere. And the season Paul warned of — itching ears, accumulated teachers, truth traded for myths — is not some distant future. It is the religious marketplace we live in now. That is precisely why sound teaching must be sought, and why it must be spoken.

2 Timothy 4:1–5

The Great Commission

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations… teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.” Notice what is actually commanded: not decisions counted, but disciples made — baptized, taught, and taught to obey. Those are verbs that require people, not only pages. The mandate is global and the obedience is local: your household, your coworkers, your neighbours, your church. And it rests on a promise: “I am with you always.”

From knowledge to obedience

Let us name the danger this very website could pose to you: endless intake with no output. It is possible to accumulate teaching, finish learning paths, and grow in nothing but information. Scripture calls that self-deception — be doers of the word, not hearers only. So take a concrete step this week. Share the Gospel with one person. Ask someone to disciple you. Join a study. Serve in your church. The door below is one place to start.

One-to-one discipleship

A trained believer walks with you through a learning path over an agreed span — typically eight to twelve sessions of 45–60 minutes on Zoom, with encouragement between sessions.

Online Bible study groups

Scheduled small groups of roughly 6–12 people working through a learning path together each week on Zoom, led by a vetted leader. This is our default recommendation for most people — and it models body life.

A supplement to the local church — never a substitute

We will say this plainly, because it matters more than our own usefulness: a website cannot baptize you, know you, or sit with you in a hospital room. Every conversation we have with you aims at one outcome — seeing you rooted, serving, and cared for in a faithful congregation where you actually live. Our care standards

What this is, and what it is not

Biblical counseling within Direct Connection is spiritual care under Scripture, offered by trained lay ministers and, where applicable, pastors. It is not licensed psychotherapy, medical care, or crisis intervention, and we say so before any conversation begins. Believing that Scripture is sufficient for the soul does not mean pretending that doctors, licensed professionals, and lawful authorities have no proper role.

When something is beyond our scope

Our team is trained to recognise situations beyond what we can rightly handle — risk of harm to yourself or others, abuse, and medical or psychiatric need. In those cases we refer you promptly and warmly to emergency services, appropriate licensed professionals, and your local church — and we stay prayerfully present rather than simply dropping you.

Safeguarding those under 18

We do not hold unaccompanied one-to-one sessions with anyone under 18. Ministry to minors happens only with documented parental or guardian consent, with a parent aware of and able to join every session, or in group settings with at least two adults present. Our intake screening enforces this before any match is made.

Accountability

Every team member affirms our statement of faith, is an active member in good standing of a local church, and provides a pastoral reference before serving. Counseling team members meet a documented biblical counseling training standard. A coordinator always knows which sessions are occurring between whom, and meets periodically with each team member for review.

Privacy and confidentiality

We collect only what we need to serve you and keep it in access-controlled ministry systems. Your conversations are treated with care and confidence, with two honest limits: the safety of you or others, and lawful obligations. All ministry communication runs through ministry-owned accounts, never a team member’s personal number.

Always free

Every Direct Connection service is free of charge. We do not take fees, we do not solicit funds in sessions, and we never use a care relationship to raise money. Where source teaching is used in a session, we point you to it at the source — we do not distribute copies.
